A dual citizen of Austria and Canada, Helga’s life and spiritual journey has covered five countries and a vast set of experiences. Helga grew up on a dairy farm in southeastern Austria, and has loved and been around animals all her life.
She found her calling when she discovered animal massage therapy while living in Denver and founded Happy Hounds & Horses, LLC in 2012 to care for the wellbeing of our canine and equine companions.
Helga is a board-certified and licensed massage therapist for large and small animals with a special interest and training in rehabilitation techniques. She is also board-certified in small animal acupressure, and has trained in equine Craniosacral Therapy. Helga's work offers a gentle and focused touch tailored to the needs of your animal.
A lifelong learner, Helga’s educational journey started when she studied pre-med at university in Graz, Austria, and eventually became certified as an x-ray technician for humans. Helga is also passionate about teaching. She is a certified instructor for Canine First Aid and CPR, which she teaches together with her dog Mia. Helga is also a teaching assistant at the Northwest School of Animal Massage.
